International Community School Branch 1 was a Primary School, which is now growing into a through school, adding one Secondary year group per year. We follow the English National Curriculums (Primary and Key Stage 3) and the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
We are based in the heart of Abu Dhabi in Najda and have pupils from a wide range of countries including the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.
The school has been open for five years, and we are part of a growing family of ICS schools. Our main branch is an American Curriculum K-12 school in Al-Mushrif, Abu Dhabi.
We have 4 sections to our Branch 1 school:
Foundation Stage, for children aged between 3 and 5 years (FS1 and FS 2)
Key Stage 1 for children aged between 5 and 7 years (Year 1 and Year 2),
Key stage 2 for children aged between 7 and 11 years (Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6).
Key Stage 3 for children aged between 11 and over (Current"y just Year 7, but we are soon to add Year 8)
Each of our year groups have bewteen 2 and 5 classes (depending on the year group), with maximum class sizes of 25 in the Foundation Stage and Year 1 and 30 across the rest of the school.
Our English Curriculum teachers are all fluent English speakers and come from a range of countries including England, Ireland, America, Lebanon, Palestine , Algeria and South Africa.
These teachers teach the core subjects Mathematics, English and Science.
We also have English speaking teachers for our other English Curriculum subjects ICT, Music, Art, PE and French.
We follow the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum for Arabic, Islamic Studies and Arabic Social Studies. These subjects are taught by our Arabic speaking staff.
