STUDENT LIFE
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world"
- Nelson Mandela
A student’s journey through ICS is a journey of self-discovery and exploration. Outside of the classroom, ICS offers students a wide variety of opportunities to collect new experiences, develop hidden talents, and uncover new passions. Read on to learn more.
ICS schools have an environment that is bustling with activity, full of excitement and overflowing with life, no matter how old our students are. Students build friendships, learn responsibility and work hard in safe, secure environments. Whether we are singing, acting, competing or learning, we are doing so in a unique way, to create an education that defines a lifetime. At ICS, our students experience many fun and exciting events that involve the entire school. We believe in the importance of the entire student body being involved together.
Foundation Stage and Kindergarten
Whether you choose the English or American curriculum, you will find that Foundation Stage and Kindergarten are fun filled programs, designed to enhance the development of the whole child. We have experienced, dedicated and nurturing staff members to make this first academic experience a rewarding time for your child.
We nurture students academically by teaching handwriting, reading, languages, arts, and number readiness. Children learn social skills by changing classes, visiting other classes in the schools and having older children work with them in their own class.
Key Stage 1 & 2, and Elementary School
As well as providing a solid academic environment, we believe that all children should be actively involved in their learning and aim to do so by teaching in a creative way. All subjects are delivered in a fun and interactive manner. Our class teachers work closely alongside our subject specific teachers to ensure a collaborative approach to learning and teaching.
In addition, our students have the opportunity to be involved in many extra curricular activities and events, supporting them to become confident and independent individuals.
Key Stage 3 and Middle School
We believe that children should have a positive learning experience with a range of different activities provided to engage learners. We encourage all students to develop their independent learning skills, supporting them to become proactive learners. This enables our students to become mature, independent workers and thinkers. Students are expected to be personally responsible in a framework that allows for intellectual curiosity and the development of positive moral and social values. Through bonding trips, sports programmes and fine arts programmes, our students are allowed to grow and develop, ensuring they are ready for the challenges of Upper School.
Upper School
Our Upper Schools pride themselves on rigorous academic schedules. With our clubs, athletics and fine art electives, students can grow and mature in their areas of interests. ICS’ dedicated staff team form close bonds with our student body and the upper school students are able to form valuable relationships with our younger students through mentoring and buddy programs. Academics combined with the positive social, athletic and aesthetic experiences provide a nurturing atmosphere for the whole student.
